Douglas Martin Davis
March 10, 1941 - July 12, 2026
Douglas Martin Davis, passed away peacefully at his home on the family farm in Eagle Hill,
Alberta, on July 12, 2026, at the age of 85.
Doug was born on March 10, 1941, in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Okotoks. Throughout his
life, he wore many hats, paramedic, truck driver, and farmer, but the role he cherished most was
caring for his family and the land he called home. His farm was his happy place, where he found
peace among his cattle, horses, and the birds he loved to watch.
Doug was a hardworking man, his quiet strength, dedication, and love for rural life shaped the
lives of everyone around him. Whether he was behind the wheel of a truck, serving his community
as a paramedic, or tending to his farm, he approached life with determination, resilience, and a
deep appreciation for simple things.
Those who knew Doug will remember his fun personality, love of animals, and the pride he took
in his family and his farm. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created,
and the generations of family who will continue to tell his stories.
Doug leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda, and his children: Aaron (Ginny), Buck
(Heather),Gail (Roy), Sheila (Brian), and Kelly (Gene). He was a proud grandfather to 15
grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 34 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children Kathleen; his beloved daughter
Penny; his parents, Martin and Georgina; and his siblings, Joan and Wally.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered their love,
support, and kindness during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Leoni Kelly and nursing
staff at Olds General Hospital.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to S.P.C.A., S.T.A.R.S Air Ambulance
or W.H.O.A.S.
The family invites you to honor Doug's memory in your own way, whether by
spending time with loved ones, lending a helping hand to a neighbor, or simply enjoying the peace
and beauty of the Alberta countryside that he loved so dearly.
