John (Jack) Alexander Bowie January 16, 1945 - July 20, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Bowie at the Red Deer
Hospice on July 20, 2026, at the age of 81 years.
Jack was born January 16, 1945, in Lacombe, Alberta and while he travelled with work in his early years, he was happiest when he and his family returned to the Ponoka area. He was a man of many talents, bridge builder, truck driver, equipment operator and after retiring meticulously restoring antique furniture for family and many community members. Always up for a challenge, when he started a project, it was done right, with careful planning and attention to detail.
Jack lived a life centered around family, hard work, and fun. He enjoyed travel - road trips within Canada, winters in Arizona, cruises to Alaska and Panama, and especially a long road trip through Australia. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, quadding, or anything that involved camping with his family. His family meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, wisdom and hard-working spirit. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the values he instilled will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife Judy; children Grant; Cheryl (Pat); Jason (Tanya) and Tavis (Analyn); 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Rich and numerous treasured nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Joanne; his parents Art and Edith Bowie; brothers Charlie, Bill and his twin sister Jean.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered their love, support, and kindness during this time and always many thanks to the Red Deer Hospice for their exceptional care during his time there.

A Celebration of Life, Come and Go for Jack will be held September 5, 2026, from 1pm - 4pm at
the Morningside Hall.
