Alice Lorraine Andras
March 2, 1938 - July 22, 2026
Alice Lorraine Andras, aged 88 years, passed away at Bethany Care, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on
July 22, 2026.
Alice was born on March 2, 1938, in Olds, Alberta to George and Lorraine Coutts. She and her older brother, Edward, grew up in the Westward Ho area before the family moved to Sundre.
Alice met Julius Andras at a dance when she was 16 years old and they were married on a snowy October 21, 1957. Moving to Red Deer the following year, Alice and Julius raised 2 children, Holly and Kim. Alice worked part time at The Bay before she found a rewarding job in a dental clinic, earning her dental assistant certificate and remained with the same dentist until her retirement.
It was always Alice and Julius’s dream to move back to the Sundre area, the place closest to their hearts. They made their dream come true, building a house on an acreage west of Sundre where they shared many wonderful years until Julius’s passing in 2000. Soon after, Alice moved into Sundre, volunteering for Victims Services and Palliative Care. A devoted church goer, she was active in the Sundre United Church. When she felt the time was right, Alice moved to the Sundre Seniors Lodge where she resided until 2025 when she moved to Bethany Sylvan Lake until her passing.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Holly (Ross) and her son, Kim (Violet); cherished grandchildren and their partners; and her great grandchildren; and several grand-puppies.
Her unwavering faith and love of family were expressed in her final wishes: “I have been so blessed to have two wonderful kids and wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Remember that I love you all very much and wish the best for you.”
A memorial service will be held at the Sundre United Church, Sundre, Alberta on August 8,
2026 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sundre United Church or the Sundre Hospital Palliative Care, in accordance with Alice’s wishes.
